a game can change your status!!!

Not all childhood incidents do we remember except a certain things which get stuck in our memory. Those are the moments of extreme glory and these scenes keep on flashing each and every day leading to uncontrolled release of Adrenalin making us feel happy and gives us a urge to redo  the action in a better way and often the thought is accompanied by a hero introduction back ground score.Awesome feel and the following is one such incident.

The story dates back to 2002 to being a fifth standard kid wearing half trousers ,a neatly pressed shirt tucked into the shorts ,a tightly worn belt,a badge pinned to my pocket , a  square folded hanky in the pocket and hair nicely oiled and combed with a partition on the side. Those were sane times when i felt like wishing teachers good morning rather than wanting to ridicule them.I was a dynamic kid who wanted to excel in studies as well as sports. But the latter never happened.I was constantly the topper of my class in studies but wasn't the topper in sports which I sucked  so badly. But I never stopped playing. They were a good time pass.Every day after school I used to play basket ball till  6 in the evening .I used to be the last kid to leave school rather if I leave school early I ll have to start studying early. So I preferred basketball though i sucked at it.I had good technique but never performed well in games .May be due to fear.
Sports day season arrived characterized by free periods ,drill and march past practice. All students were divided among four houses namely Nehru ,Tagore,Bharathi and Gandhi and I was placed in Nehru house. All fifth standard and sixth standard guys were under sub junior category.Basketball house match selection took place. Not many fifth standards were selected . Watching me staying for practice all day they took me as substitute inside the team.that made me very happy.Being in a house team though not a big deal meant so much to me that I practised so hard even though I wasn't in the main five.

The day came.schedule of matches for the day:
Gandhi vs Tagore ---------->winner

                                             vs

Nehru vs bharati ---------->winner
The day was very hot with the sun straight over our head.We had no jerseys nor Reebok shoes.every one played with our house T-shirts on and we wore our white canvases for the game.they never provided us with glucose or juice.we were asked to bring our own water bottles.there was no stadium around the court.all the students were asked to sit on the sand outside the court.we had no techniques like Jordan or Johnson.but we could pass, dribble and shoot the ball.excepting the above, our match could be compared with those international matches between LA lakers and Dallas..:P
First match was between Gandhi and Tagore.Tagore, clearly the strongest team out of the lot emerged winners of the first game.the next match was between Nehru and Bharati.Neither of us were strong .We both were mediocre teams.First match went very close and my house was leading till the third quarter but bharati equalled with our scores  by shooting two continuous  three pointers and the momentum shifted. Then our house captain called for a time out to cut the momentum going and then the play started after two minutes and Nehru team were on song and emerged winners by four points.Close game it was.
FINALS:NEHRU VS TAGORE
After a half hour break the finals took place. We were no match to the expertise of Tagore. We feared. We never showed it out.The match started.I was still a substitute.Captains stood in the centre court for the jump ball(the way basket ball games used to start). From that minute to the end  of the first quarter Tagore house were thrashing us.At the end of the first quarter my team mate named  Prashanth kicked the ball out of frustration which was a technical violation and was a disrespect to the game that  he was barred from playing the next three quarters. So i was sent in.I was nervous and uncomfortable.I was happy being a substitute encouraging my team mates.I had no other choice than to play.Second quarter started.ball was in the hands of Tagore house.I blocked one of their pass and got the ball back to our house which boosted my confidence a little bit.We converted the ball to a two pointer. At the end of the second quarter when we were in Tagore's base my captain passed the ball to me.There was no one to block me.I was free.I aimed the board and shot the ball.It went in surprisingly.I was awestruck and so were every one.The second quarter was over.we were ten points lagging behind Tagore. For the first time I felt proud before my friends and classmates for playing basketball. My confidence increased exponentially.

Sets You On Fire
The third quarter whistle was blown..  we had the upper hand in the third quarter. We were only  two points lagging behind Tagore.I contributed five shots to our team. The most by an individual player in a quarter..It was a like  dream. all my shots were converted to points.I hardly missed a shot in that quarter.the Third quarter was over.the scores were 28-30

Fourth quarter was the deciding one.Every one were fired up and nervous too.The whistle blew.every one took their positions .every one were drenched in sweat, very tired of playing seven quarters already. This is their 8th quarter and every one felt the pain.but no one gave up.Match started with full pace.Tagore being the superior team we had no worry of loosing it.We were cool and played well and with only 2 minute remaining the scores were levelled 42-42.Now the ball was in Tagore's hands and they played the passing game until their pass were blocked by team mate and passed to me and i dribbled the ball to the opposite court single handedly and went in for lay up.....>check one shot(terms used in basket ball)!!!!!!it went in!!we were leading by two points and Tagore retaliated  and now scores were again levelled.there were only twenty seconds remaining now.Tagore strengthened their defence. They dint allow us into their court that easy. And the final 10 second count down started
10.9.8.7 I went passed the centre court using one of my best moves and I was near the three pointer line with 5 seconds remaining.
5.4
I shot the ball from a long distance without aiming the board as time was less.
2
the ball went in!!!
1.whistle was heard.fourth quarter was over.
Nehru house won.!!we won..all our team mates were jumping in joy.they were running towards me.We high fived. The match was watched by every one including my classmates and principal.every one congratulated. It was one proud moment for me who never excelled in a sport I loved. This made me a confident guy.And after this incident I was the first guy to be picked in school team in the sub junior category. The circumstance brought the best in me.The look people had when they saw me after the last shot made me over whelmed.I have no words to explain it.I still remember those looks.Though it was only a inter house match I always compared my last minute shot to Lance Klusner's last ball six which won his team over Newzealand in March 1999.The news of the win faded within one or two hours. But I felt like a hero for the next whole month.Crazy times those were. But still this remain one of the best moments in my life!!!!

are ants created at the spot of sugar spillage??

ants are tiny ,harmless, disciplined ,extremely talented (having the ability of foreseeing earthquake)simple creatures whom i have constantly observed and admired!!with this amount of discipline and a insight of future they should be given the sixth sense organism status according to my opinion.:p
qualities of ant i admire and the lessons i learn from ants:-
1)their ability to work in a organised way whatever the location be ,whatever the conditions whether its monsoon or dry or famine conditions i never see them deviating from the line they are moving in. i feel humans should always follow the same.whatever the conditions are ,one should stick to their disciplines and basics to go far in their careers.
2)how much ever the food is less or more the ants of the same colony take their food only to their nest and then share among themselves.no greediness..if greediness is a part of sixth sense i would say ants have well filtered senses enough for them to live their life the right way.
3)they can detect minute amount of food in all forms solid ,liquid.i drop  food in  my table the ants are there.i drop a food in the hall ants are there!if the sugar bottles are lightly open ants are there!if food is kept in the terrace ants are there!i never see any signs of ant until a food spillage happens and bam the ants are there..!THIS MAKES ME THINK THAT ANTS EMANATE FROM THE SPOT RATHER THAN MOVING TO THE SPOT!!SUCH IS THEIR SPEED AND WORK MAN SHIP.awesome insects.they don't leave the least of opportunities.it might be one  grain of rice for man but its a full day meal for them..and they work very hard to earn them.
4)they are harmless creatures until we harm them.they never get into any ones business until they are being disturbed which is a noble quality.
5)"god helps hard working people".this is true in the case of ants.owing to their gentleness and hard working nature god has made them a very desirable insect unlike the cockroaches lizards and other flies.i don't often see them  being killed by people and the surprise is even girls dont fear them.

ants are present at all land parts.minute there is a spillage the forces sense and immediately cleans them up!only way to prevent the ants is to put some sugar outside your house!!ants are the most awesome insects on earth.

an experiment to find how ants work.chose a place.make sure there aren't any ants in the vicinity..drop a little of sugar or milk or something.switch on the stop clock  and remain in that place for a long time.if the ants come for the sugar they aren't afraid of human presence.and if the ants aren't there you pls leave the room and with the stop clock on and then after a while check for results.and then after this is done.then spill a drop of milk or tea on your table  in the same room as the previous experimentand now trace the location of the ants' nest they are coming from.if the location of the nests are different they have only one nest per room or if the locations are different we should find how many locations they have using integration!!i haven't tried this yet..please try this and please report your results!!

if you are also a person who admire ants drop in your views!i would love to read comments about my posts !!

boy:its OK!!(as if i care)

ps:no offence to anyone!!

WHOLE WORLD-SINGLE COUNTRY!!

Ever since I learnt about the seven continents and hundred and ninety odd countries in it, I always wondered why all these continents have to be separated and again why all these countries should be in turn divided into states.?on what basis are they decided?on what basis is the land area decided?who made the boundaries??who divided the world??who had the right to do it??what are the advantages of doing it??what are the disadvantages of doing it??who invented barter system??what brought money into play??
what made people to look for gold ??why was gold considered precious when its usage is not more than ornaments??why all ornamental stones are more precious than iron and aluminum which have vast usage??who invented technology?why dint people prefer a simple life??why were certain people greedy??the outcome of technology??why were wars fought??

People say countries were divided based on the culture and the ethnic groups that lived there..Ok let them be separated based on culture and ethnic groups for adminstartive purpose..But they should be governed under single name "the world".not in the name of countries.by this the words war, weapons, missiles, poverty, unemployment, overpopulation, will never have any meaning!all the natural wealth can be shared with each other for free.there will be equal distribution of wealth..the concept of rich and poor countries will die.all people get all benefits and medical aids.the world will be free of war.we will not need any visas or passports to visit distant places.no more indians,ausralians,americans..we all become global citizens!!

i hope all the world leaders read this corner and get insight!!when i can think about this..why dont leaders think!!

Being sick can be quite awesome!!

Being sick might make us tired, make us sleep the whole day, make our bodies ache, make our heads pain, dehydrate our bodies make our throats ache ,make us vomit, make us feel dizzy but it also has its share in attention seeking.all of a sudden u become  a hit in your surroundings..constant pampering by mother, who makes the food you can digest, father who  takes you to a doctor ,sister who brings water for your tablets,,friends who constantly enquire about your health, and family members who flood the phone with calls enquiring about your health and suggesting some drugs and food, inbox filled with take care messages and especially during exams being sick is an excellent and well accepted excuse for not doing well.so yeah!!being sick is quite awesome where the attention covers for its physical manifestations.

PS:the sickness mentioned above is small kind of sickness like fever, cold.not sickness like TB,cholera or fractures where you wont be conscious enough to feel the awesomeness.so don't go and break your bones to feel it!!

epic clash!!

It was just another interesting notorious incident that happened in my college life .!
It happened on a Thursday,a month back. We were given a two day respite on account of our college cultural fest .Usually the cultural nights are the best part of our fest and the mornings were a little draggy and unlike other mates of my class who preferred to stay at their rooms searching for their pillows and headsets we a group of five girls and boys were on a expedition to explore wild life.We planned on going to  vandaloor zoo..It might sound naive for a set of twenty year olds to visit the zoo which was common field trip spot for the primary school kids.We didn't have any other choice.Boring movies, not heavy enough pockets to go for a lunch and persuasion by two of my friends  made us take this option .

By 12 in the noon we got into a bus.Vandaloor zoo also known as Arignar Anna Zoological Park was located on a area of 1500 acres at Tambaram in Chennai visited mostly by school children , huddling couples ,college students with their friends, and family. .We reached the zoo in the next one hour.

We being adults, you people would expect us to get into wildlife park and start visiting the animals..but my friends didn't do that. You people wouldn't believe me.They got hold of swings at the entrance of the park meant for children below 10 years and started swinging on it and by the time they finished it was 1:30 and we started our sight seeing. We rented cycles for each of us and started our expedition. We visited most animals ,birds ,snakes in the limited time we had.The most interesting of the animals was the bear which  was busy gaping at the sky wondering some one would throw  a piece of meat from the sky while scratching and rubbing with pawed fingers its fur coated tummy constantly  .We missed the lion safari as it was too late. And after all the visiting by some five we winded up everything and we took a u turn and were heading towards the entrance to return our cycles.

While returning back to the entrance to return our cycles, I and my friend harinath were leading the group of ten were in the front little bored as every one were tired after a two hours cycle journey.harinath popularly known for his pointed nose is  geeky, helping, always the one to be ridiculed in the group, liked by all and often spotted among groups of girls .in addition to it hari honed excellent cycling skills  since twelth standard.he never knew to stop bicycle with his leg.his cycle lacked brakes.so he always made a screachy noise when he pulled the brakes to alert the people infront of him.
To get the time going i called in hari for a race.he was reluctant to join.later he accepted and started riding his bicycle fast.he was on a hercules thriller(i guess) and i was riding a tandem bicycle with my friend at the back.me driving a heavier cycle was lagging behind him in the race.he took advantage of this and rose his speed without remembering the fact that his cycles never had brakes...
he was speeding..i was behind him..
he was speeding..i was behind him..
he was speeding..i was behind him.

at a distance from us was a family of some eight people including a male and some seven females.they were walking on one corner of the  road.the man was some forty to fifty years old was  islamic  which was evident from the black gowns worn by the women covered from head to toe surrounding him.they were walking slowly..
he was speeding..i was behind him
he was speeding..i was behind him
we neared the family ..as hari was about to cross the family ,the old man sensed something fast coming towards him and  out of reflex he moved to other side of the road.
now the old man was in the path of hari..hari at the last moment didnt know what to do..his cycle had neither the brakes nor the bell .hari who should have stopped the cycle by placing the feet against the floor resisting the movement of the cycle was now on the top of the cycle standing on his peddle making the screechy noise he used to make while trying to stop the cycle which added to the nerve of the old man who remained unmoved(he imagined standing on a the peddle would stop the cycle..but not)..the cycle continued to move with the same speed and BAM!!! it knocked the old man down and the cycle fell on him ..in addition to the cycle ,hari toppled and fell over the old man only to sandwich him to the floor..

i was behind..hari was knocked out.

i got down from my bicycle to help hari and the old man to get on their feet.luckily no one had any serious damages except for the fact that the old man was limping on his feet..we were then invovled in negotiations with old mans family as mistakes were on both sides.the old man shouldn't have shifted side without looking back..later it was settled..we then returned our cycles and were buying water bottles from the canteen..then we heard some noises behind us..it was the other female members of the old mans family excluding the seven who were beside him during the epic clash were chasing us shouting out words..they were there to redo the negotiations..they were there shouting irrational statements..they never understood what happened there..nor were they cared about the old mans health..if they were really cared about his health they would have taken him to the hospital or taken him to home instead of fighting with us..instead they were just fighing with us.we even offered him medical aids..still they were only to build up the fight.there was no use figting with irrational people..so we slipped out of the place.may not be a happy ending..but in  friends group like us nothing could end that sad..we were on our way back to college discussing about the events rather in a hilarious way.as the fight recurred twice ,hari feared all those people wearing black gowns on our way to the college thinking them to be a part of that group.for a group of people with such a weird experience we were in our peak of our moods and we also attended the cultural night that evening after weary day.!!

imagination:
the next day morning twenty guys of their family each looking well built double triple the size of hari came to college and they spoted us siting under a tree
villain:come with us
us:where
villain:we want to talk with you people

we sensed the context of the word talk.
us:anna ivan(hari) thaan unga aalu mela vandi ethunaan..ivana evalavu naal venum naalum kutitu poi vechu porumaya adinga!!!

you did it??:(:(then I will also have to do it!!

I love it!I do it! - passion.
You can do it!I can do it!-competitiveness.
You did it.i'll also  have to do it!-peer pressure.

Peer pressure is imaginary feeling of being pressed against the floor by your successful peers who are top on the ladder caused by the thought of being  on par with your friends group  no matter in what discipline they achieve ensued by stress and low self esteem. Most of  us,almost all except those rare real monks out there experience the effect peer pressure in their daily lives. Most  people be hypocrites to themselves dissembling this effect by the words passion and competition. This is where the problem starts.Peer pressure not necessarily leads to disaster..It has its own plus and minus. Its a plus when you join a group of geeks where you fight with them to get equal marks. In  companies peer pressure is often a tool used to get work done.Exalting one from a group of ten for their work might induce all the other nine to work.excellent tool to drain ppl.(now this is competition)and on the other hand when you being a geek join a set of  toss pot you will become one(peer pressure).

Teen peer pressure(PP) often a result of grade sheet(when our friend gets .01 higher GPA in the end semesters), love(where ppl are indirectly forced to have girl friends when their friend has one and try all tricks to get a girl friend and when all the efforts go vain they end up accepting any girl that comes their way later only to get the relation broken down and viceversa in girls),internships(when one of the friends gets an internship out of the whole group which had applied which leads to a unwanted low feeling-self experienced), accessories(for instance, when one of a your  swanky mates have a  hi five dress, costume, jewellery, gadget, or motor bike you will end up torturing your parents who already work their ass off to give you decent accessories and good education ) and fame(where one might be funny one and liked by all ppl and a friend of him trying all stuff to impress girls and  most often gets the name "lame guy."please take this info..trying too much won't help in this discipline..only being yourself can fetch you the name "cool guy").i know people who  join all entrance exam coaching classes just because their friends have joined it end up excelling in none..PP will never let you be single minded. You will start thinking what your friend does rather than what you want to do.

Parental PP-In addition to all the pressures we lay on ourselves our parents add another 1000 ATM pressure on our back only to get it broken not for flexing it. Just because they want to sound cool in their peer group by saying"my boy goes to singing and dancing classes","my girl gets a 9.5 GPA","my grandson is a grand master in chess" ,they force us to all classes on earth singing, dancing, skating, music, abacus, other languages ,later only to say"I joined you in all classes but you failed to shine in anything"(did we ask you??)

The only way out of this is to be clear of what one wants and to be resolute in not comparing oneself with your friends group.I know .This is more easy to say..But one can do  it with few months practice..Whenever you get low marks, whenever your rejected ,whenever your being called the lame one for being yourself, whenever you don't get a job you wanted, whenever you didn't get a university you wanted, whenever u didn't get the girl you wanted, whenever you didn't excel in some art just say"I'm unique..ill prove myself in a better way in a better place" to yourself..in this way your being optimistic ,your not low and you break the concept of peer pressure.(might sound abstract.pls try..it will work.)

men-dominators??or push overs??

Our society  was once considered to be male dominated society and still prevalently considered so  though not in all fields but in certain fields ..Is it really so??Is 'dominate' the right word for the context or should it be replaced by the word push over.????

The statement men and women are equal is absurd. There are disparities between them.they have their strengths and disadvantages with women having most weakness for the time being.but when it comes to converting their weakness into advantages women have an upper hand ..This is where men are made push overs .this can be cited with few examples I observe in daily life
1.conversation (true conversation..not made up)

girl1 to a boy: study hard..only then will u be married
girl2: every one has to work hard to get married to a nice person.
girl1: not in the case of women..we ll get married any how to nice ppl ..my father(another poor male) will take care.:)

another conversation between a girl and boy

girl:why did u shift to management and not ms??
boy:my path in biotech is obscure.i really dunno what to do
girl:yeah for boys biotech is a risk
boy:why alone for a boy..why not for a girl??
girl:because Ur going to depend on it for living..ill marry a rich person and settle and biotech wont be a risk for us girls.:)

Only then I got the reason behind the 3:1 ratio of girls to boys in our class.Girls are really clear.Men back in history who restricted studying and leading the family to men never foresaw these things to happen  to the 21st century men.The disadvantage of being a part of patriarch society was now converted into an added advantage by women.

2.Reservations:-

women always consider themselves equal to men but not in all things.they consider them weaker than men in things like standing in the bus where they have reservation of a whole side in a bus where there are only two seats reserved for physically challenged and senior citizens.most often than not the senior citizens are deprived of their seats and the most sad part is that women end up sitting even on men's side(not reserved..but supposed to be men's side) converting it into a 'ladies special(men ordinary)'bus.running back time, women weren't allowed to sit in front of men..but now its the other way around though the reason cited is their weakness..

next comes the political reservation..women were given 33% reservation.we men cannot be complacent with the rest 67%  as its general quota and not reserved for men.33% reservation for women considering them the weaker sex as far as politics is concerned might not sound alarming but a time might come when women gain equal political powers and this 33% would be their weapon to dethrone men from politics.:):)

3.Last but not the least-the main reason for men being push over are certain flirting men who give into all the demands made by women..for example:our college male faculties who tend to show  a soft corner towards women.:)

Commonality in all the above three cases is the weapon women use"their weakness".We  good hearted men who help them overcome their weakness are made push overs and they women become the parasite in the relationship...Unlike the  noble men of the past who dug the grave for the future men by fighting for women rights there wont be any women fighting for male rights.. We should only do for ourselves.

why should male prove their superiority by working hard ,earning, and being the head of family.??why cant we be like male lions and let women do the work..??think think...!!:)this is no bad time to start being like lions...so men!! ..be strong..be defiant to all tantalizing traps of women.long live male power!!!!

PS:this is  no offence to women.:):)

Assessments!!!!

What are assessments?
Assessments are a set of rituals solemnized by the faculties of a college which happens for a period of one or two weeks every month to test one's patience in attending the classes they take ,ones ability to steno graph(jot down points they say in lightning speed),one's ability to lift weights(relating to size of the books),ones ability to be defiant to sleep(the previous night),one's ability to memorize all the thousand evanescent structures ,formulas, loops, protocols, and cycles (most often than not our memory fails us when it comes to memorizing structures and formulas),  one's ability to compete with others to borrow the last available book in the library and last but not the least ,  ones ability to write gibberish in certain subjects where answers would be two pages and its message not more than a line.

pre-assessment week:-

"I should start preparing at least today."
these are the watch words of engineering and student fraternity everyday they get up from the bed after a  lazy day which would have  been spent by talking with friends, watching a match, watching a sitcom, reading a book, roaming on the streets, sleeping, texting, face booking, talking on the phone for hours together and all other non academic works. This is the week when  our mates will be rushing to the library searching for books and borrow them before others grab it and the copy place will see a never before seen sales hike during this week where students will be begging for their books to be copied first and the entire scenario will resemble a market with students coming out of the copy place wet with sweat..With all the goals  set for the day and  all materials for preparation  ready, the day ends by the following words
"I should start at least tomorrow".
Overcoming all  attractive distractions they sit to study and with limited preparations they wobble into assessment week with an intention of super ceding the low marks they got in  the previous test cycle.

assessment week:-

A week during which the activity levels in face book reach unprecedented heights with many of them posting the status of how much they have read and the face book chat groups serve as the class room where doubts are cleared. Demand for people who have already finished preparation all of a sudden increases as they would be surrounded by people who ask  to teach them what they have read in the books with all these engineering book speaking  Greek and Latin literally and following them especially on the last day is an daunting task.To cut it short, its a week of sleepless nights, midnight coffee, late night calls, always active social networks and chat rooms ,with students slogging over a 5 kg book throughout the night and get into the exam hall looking dull, unshaven, with dilated eyes ,sleep deprived like well dressed zombies, where they are made to sit with a one metre spacing  with three invigilators in a hall not giving a least chance to copy. After all the hard tasks they are put into shouldn't the students be given this advantage of siting next to each other.cruel world!!And after all the barriers build by the faculties certain students go breaking the walls and manage to copy !!

post assessment :

On the last day of the assessment after the last test, the class would experience a mixed emotion with few bright faces indicating their good run in the test cycle and few dull faces (reason known). And there are always certain people who all wear a fake smile even though they dint perform well as if they never care but their hearts feeling the heat could be felt if observed carefully.
The most hard phase of the post assessment period is when the professors give out the answer sheets and things get worse when our parents find the answer sheets lying inside an old book .

After all the test cycles ,the practicals and end semester come hopping in  to further test the   resistivity of the students..exams get over ---->grades sheets come.

then asks a student :how important are these assessments and GPA in our Career ?  how much GPA does one require to get a placement in good university sir??
faculty: all these assessments and GPA don't play a major role..its your projects, extensive research ideas, and several competitive exams such as GRE ,GMAT,IELTS,TOEFEL ,CAT, GATE which influence your career and you need interpersonal skills ,aptitude and leadership and extra curricular to fetch you a job.
student:them why the heck are these assessments and exams kept if they are not gonna matter much?????????then why don't you teach us what is needed  rather than some vague stuff which is not gonna help us??

pls ppl..set our path right!!not with unwanted garbage..engineers are not super humanoid computers who can handle multiple tasks of doing good at college,at competitive exams, and at extra curriculum.

The Wall!

Rahul Dravid popularly known as "the wall of indian cricket" and as 'jammie' by his friends was born in a upper middle class family in bangalore on 11th january , 1973 in indore.he later moved on to bangalore where his cricketing life began. He started playing cricket at the age of 12 years. his performance in the interschool tournaments fetched him a place in the duleep trophy. And he went to play the Ranjit trophy along with Kumble and Srinath who were then his ranji trophy mates. He played well at all levels and made his debut in the Indian National Team  in a match against Srilanka at Singapore as a replacement for Vinod Kambli.Though it was not the best starts one would expect for,he thrived hard to establish his name permannetly in the Indian team and he succeeded in doing it.Dravid was once considered a liability in one day format of the game.Later he went on to master that domain bringing in many victories to the nation by his single handed efforts.According to  cricket fraternity ,  a good cricketer is one who brings in victories rather than stacking up records.Dravid was one such kind.( even though Tendulkar holds a insurmountable batting record he is one of the above kind)

Dravid is one of the top ranked batsman in India. Made his test debut at Lords-June 1996.Dravid led India from October 2005 to September 2009.He averages over 50 in test cricket and averages 39.53 in ODI cricket. He is in top 10 test batsmen list for the highest number of centuries.Dravid was once  icc's test player of the year and icc's player for the year .Dravid was a team player which is evident from  his partnerships of 331 with Sachin against Newzealand and another 300  odd runs with Souvrav Ganguly.his highest score in test being 270 and in ODIs is 153.In addition to all these dravids has led us to some epic victories.one would be the India's chase of 326 .He is one player who has saved us lots of test matches by his sound technic and temperament. I personally feel that dravid ,kallis and tendulkar are the most technically sound players .They are an archetype of batting..Inzamam once quoted "give me  a player like Dravid,Ill make pakistan number one.". Such was his reputation during his times.

Dravid led india during 2005-2007.After an early world cup exit he quit his captaincy. And 2007 was not Dravid's year. he lost form and eventually lost his place in ODI side never to get it back again. From then he made only rare appearances in ODIs and was only a test player. After India's disastrous performance aginst England in recent series Dravid was called back to ODI squad..This was when he announced his retirement from ODIs.

Though Dravid ,Laxman,Tendulkar, and Dada were equally good players in their times I personally feel dravid was always eclipsed by sachin and Dada.I wonder why!neither sachin nor ganguly could be blamed..!I seriously feel that dravid was not given the respect he is supposed to have got.even when he retired form ODI he dint recieve a standing ovation.after all 15 years of hard work doesnt he deserve an standing ovation!!

As far as ODIs are concerned the wall is now an monument which the young cricketing fraternity can see and learn!!

july 8th,2011!!

Some memories of life will always bring in a smile!!it was one such memory!!

It was a Friday!!All classes got cancelled...not often does all classes on a Friday get cancelled and we get a holiday!!..i dont know about others..but for me a full day at home without college fun is something sad!! I woke up by some seven thirty wondering what ill do the whole day at home with additional trouble caused by power cuts, cable cuts...got up from bed..checked the sports column and entertainment section of the newspaper  and switched my computer on..
by some 8:30 i had finished my breakfast and sat before my computer..checked my fb profile..nothing interesting!!out of sheer boredom i took my biochem book and started studying the structures of amino acids without any interest waiting for some of my friends to call me out!!
thats when i heard a pop sound from my computer...i turned towards it!!it was a message from one of my friend named harinath on gtalk
"hari:hey sriram!
wats up?

muthiah:hey hari!!
im asusual!!

hari:vetty??

muthiah:lol yeah!!"
this went on for a while...and finally the best words from him...
"hari: wanna go to kung fu panda??2 o clock ??"
this sentence gave me some hope for the day

muthiah:yeah sure!which theatre??who are all coming??

hari:sathyam...many are coming
sanketh, suriyasree ,nive,aprna,kavitha,gayathri.sindhuja,saroja,manjul

muthiah:wow..that's a whole lot"
it was really difficult to gather so many ppl for an event...but it was one such day  where so many people gathered...
i checked the availability of tickets..there were enough tickets available..we made the plan..and every one turned in!!and about kung  fu panda..he was awesome!!it was in 3 d...every one loved it!!

the fun didnt end there!!we got a call from our other friends who were in express avenue..express avenue was a highly rated mall some five minutes away from sathyam cinemas..my friends priya ,sathish, sruthi, chella and marz were there in the mall planning to watch venghai...but they failed to get tickets and ended up eating at the food court there...after our film got over we joined them in express avenue food court by some 4 .15
of course there was no shortage of words, laughter, mockery, spoofs...we were also discussing about our future plans to loaf around..but this time it was out of the state.kerala!!it was still in planning stage..we ll see abt it in my future blogs...after our discussions we went to odyssey!!checked out some books...the fun still dint end here!!!
then we decided to visit the MARINA..it was a five minute  bus journey from  express avenue...
on the ea bus stop we ate a fruit named mongoose which i haven't tasted before!!we were in front of a bus stop with so many ppl watching us..but we still fought for the limited half a kilo mongoose we bought in the public!!fun time it was!!not only the fruit, some similar situations like this can be felt and tasted only with your friends!!
5 30pm
we reached the beach!!the beach waters dint seem to have lost its charm ...it was as usual fascinating!we took photos!we sat on the sand and started talking about all the things that go in our class..the romance, lessons, proposals, films, scoldings, insults everything!!we talked until we realised that it was too late!!
by seven thirty we  started from the beach to our respective places!!the day was long!!fun filled!!
it wasnt the film,ea nor the beach which made my day!!it was my friends who made the day up!!

 atlast THE DAY ENDS HERE
HOPE THE FUN LASTS LONG!!!!

PS: these words are no equivalent to the fun i had !!

thoughts on a sleepless night!!!!

Morning 0:00 am....all my family was sound asleep.....i was the only one awake watching  the fourthday of the first test match of India's tour of West Indies...India needed a wicket to win ..and eventually India won..India were on their peak.seriously it was not about winning now..its about how good they win...and after the presentation party i switched the tv off and searched for something to eat or drink in the refridgerator. There was nothing except some green vegetables to eat. Then i went to bed with nothing really to do..
it was a long night...i really dint feel sleepy...with samsung headset in my ear i started staring at the ceiling ...without paying any attention to the loud  music i started dreaming..THIS IS WHEN I GET MY SUPER SAINTIFIC THOUGHTS which were louder than the music tat came throught the ear piece.....

i think about all crazy things that happened..thoughts of everything tat happened tat day ,the day before ,the things that i did, things i dint do ,things i should have done ,the scoldings and so on lingered on my mind..suddenly my mind started thinking about cricket..I started analysing india's performances on the day..

The thought of daryl harper's bad umpiring in the test match stuck on my mind for quite long and this led way to one of my wonderful thoughts.....
Daryl Harper was from Australia umpiring one of his last matches before he was goin to retire....Harper gave raina out for a catch which eventually came from the thigh pad..one of his worst decisions in the match...this made conditions difficult for india...but still india went on to win the match .this thought led into another...

So its not others judgement of you thats goin to matter.when u give in to their the judgements ,thats when u fail...self assessment is the best assessment providing the assessment is honest and rational...one should neva accept ur weakness but assess on what u have to do to make u strong...
for instance take my mother...she always tell that am goin to be great some time...but her judgement is not going to happen unless i give a thought about it..lol...ok lets take a better example..remember  how thomas alva edison was judged by his teacher??but later he came on to become one big scientist who his teacher can flaunt about as their student...so neva give into others judgement however great those people are...ITS YOU WHO KNOWS YOU BETTER.

people I know that there is no connection between the umpiring decisions and my thought...but some great thoughts come only this way...and this is how our brain is designed...but seriously am i the only one who get these thoughts??do u ppl also get these thoughts when u are sleepless??i really wonder.....

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:never give into others judgement ...its you who knows u better..!!!.
SECOND THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: boredom and sleeplessness can bring the saint in u out!!!

PS:i dint drink anything other than water that day!!!

AN HILARIOUS MOMENT!!!

Few months back, times when I used to  jog religiously I met an interesting guy...I woke up early...put on my shoes and left to the park where I used to jog around....though getting up early and jogging was irritating initially the morning silence, the empty roads, early sun rays, reddish sky, cool weather, and of course my physique made me take up jogging regularly...and this event dint make me regret either....
I ran around the park for a quite a while until I couldn't continue any more.so I sat on one of the seats and took a break before starting my next running session.
then came a guy.....he was dark, with nice oiled hair, with  streak of ashes on his head and he wore a striped lungi(nontraditional dhoti) and a shirt with cement and red brick powder stains on it.He ran into all people on the park and showed them a piece of paper and asked something. And no one seemed to respond to him and every one had a snigger as they passed him. After all those things he came to me and asked me in a humble tone
"anna intha address enga irukunu solla mudiyuma(can you locate this address for me?)" showing a piece of paper..the paper stated
                                      "nadigai sneha(actress sneha),
                                       brinthavan garden,iyyapanthangal."
 the address wasn't detailed enough.
"do u want to meet actress sneha????"i asked him with a puzzled expression
"yes yes" he told with a innocent flirty kind of smile....
I asked him about how he got the address and he told me a story of how a random person made him to talk to sneha through phone and he also told" sneha invited me home through phone"

i then judged that some one have fooled him with a fake call and fake address...and  told him that  was a fake address and some one had fooled him...but he refused to listen....he wanted to meet her so badly that he came there in search of her house leaving his job..
"brother i gave in search of her from salem leaving my job" he told
"what you came from salem!!"i was shocked.
I really dint know whether to laugh or feel bad for that guy...later i convinced him that the address was false and asked him to return home.....he was reluctant to go home...then atlast he went home giving me a  small book and asked me to give it to sneha if i see her...he was really ignorant and dint really know whats the actual scene of a actors life was...i really couldn't refuse it...he gave it to me and went home in despair...
it was seven in the morning..it was too late , i had to start early to college..so i left park.on my way back, out of curiosity i opened his book...to my surprise the guy had written a poem about sneha....which was not so poetic(not at a all a poem") but showed his craziness for sneha...it was really funny..i laughed all my way home....
A part of the poem as far as i remember
"en kadhali nadigai sneha than    (my girl's name is sneha
en kadhali nadigai sneha than      my girl's name is sneha
enakum avalai pudikum thann     i love her so much
avalai pudikum than"                   i love her so much)

the poem was written in Tamil with  lot of spelling mistakes...
this is the far extent of cinemas' influence i have seen on stupid youth....

ovar thanukkum ovaru feeling!!!

PS:certain lines are written in Tamil and then translated to English to show the nativity of the guy and to increase the flavour..!!
